We are looking to hire an Underground Supervisor to join our Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON., on a full-time basis. The schedule for this position is 5-5-4, 12 hrs/day.
Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.
In this role, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations and direct supervision of your crew. You will also be responsible for the deployment of materials and equipment to meet safety and production requirements in your area of responsibility.


About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Mine Superintendent, the Underground Supervisor will have the following
responsibilities:

  • Ensures operations comply with legislative, company, and site regulations.
  • Ensures compliance with H&S and Environmental
  • Ensures employees are trained before performing the work.
  • Assign employees specific work assignments each shift to meet production targets daily,
    weekly, and monthly.
  • Ensures workers are monitored during the shift and coaching and training as required.
  • Responsible for the deployment of materials and equipment to meet safety and
    production requirements in your own area of responsibility.
  • Inspects all work and request corrective actions.
  • Manages employee performance and adherence to the Company’s policies and
    procedures on-site including quality of work, discipline, absences, and vacation
    scheduling.
  • Keeps a pulse of the workforce to maintain positive employee attitude and participation.
  • Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental
    matters, over which the individual has control, including adherence to all requirements
    applicable to Lake Shore Gold Corporation
  • Special projects may be assigned from time to time.

  • Minimum 8-10 years of related mining experience.
  • Supervisory Common Core is required.
