OUR STRATEGY & APPROACH

Collaboration with host communities, through open and transparent engagement, is fundamental to
building social acceptance in the countries where we operate. In this context, we use participatory processes
and social performance tools to identify, manage, and mitigate our actual and perceived impacts, as well as to
evaluate the effectiveness of our actions. Guided by our corporate policies, our objective is to
maintain open dialogue and engagement, which are essential for the proactive management of social risks.

This approach enables us to better understand the concerns and interests of the Communities of Interest
(COIs),(1) and to address and support them in an effective, timely, and transparent manner.

Learn more about our approach to Relationships with Communities and Indigenous Peoples in our Management Approach, where you will find details on our policies, standards, programs, monitoring practices, and accountability measures

(1) We use the Mining Association of Canada (MAC)’s definition of Community of Interest (COI), which includes all individuals and groups that have an interest in or believe they may be affected by
decisions regarding the management of our operations.
