We are looking to hire a Project Manager to join our Timmins Operations in Timmins, ON., on a full-time basis.  The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day or 4 on, 3 off, 10hrs/day.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing capital projects for which you will have direct oversight responsibility and accountability during all phases of multiple projects, up to and including their close-out phase and operational readiness. You will regularly produce accurate and timely reporting on project phases, milestones, and budgets throughout the life of the projects. You will ensure work standards/requirements are met or exceeded, while complying with all applicable laws, rules, policies, and government regulations within the project scope.

Regular update presentations to the senior management group as well as corporate personnel are required, therefore excellent communication methods are a necessary skillset.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Project Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage multimillion-dollar capital projects
  • Produce tender packages for consultants and contractors for various project implementation stages
  • Direct oversight responsibility and accountability for any and all phases of the projects
  • Produce accurate and timely reporting on project phases, milestones, and budgets
  • Manage project team to keep projects on time and on budget
  • Oversee contractors and consultants working on projects
  • Hold contracting groups accountable for costs of work performed, quality of work and agreed-to timelines
  • Coordinate with multiple subject matter expert consultants to ensure technical standards are met
  • Maintain strict adherence to costs and adhere to budgeted timelines
  • Be aware of permitting requirements and liaise with the Environmental department to meet permitting timelines
  • Ensure all Company and Legislative health and safety protocols and procedures are being followed

More About You

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:

  • Licensed professional Engineer (or technical equivalency)
  • 10 years’ experience with significant exposure to mining projects
  • Project management experience developing high value mining capital projects
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset
  • Knowledge of tendering/procurement practices
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience leading a multi-faceted project team, including engineering, accounting, safety, procurement, mining/construction specialists
  • Experience overseeing various contractors and consultants working towards accomplishing one goal
  • Demonstrated capabilities to drive projects forward
  • Proven abilities to understand critical timelines
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong skills using project planning software such as MS Project, Primavera, Excel
  • Experience with project value optimization, including defining NPV, IRR
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada
