Pan American Silver provides enhanced exposure to silver through large silver reserves and catalysts to grow silver production.
Meridian Beartrack Co., a subsidiary of Pan American Silver Corp., is currently seeking a full-time Utility Technician with some heavy equipment operating and infrastructure maintenance experience at our Beartrack Mine in Idaho. Requirements include maintaining buildings, pipe and valve systems, stormwater control facilities, tracking heavy equipment maintenance schedules, debris cleanup, revegetation, localized weed control, and custodian duties. You’ll repair and maintain several miles of jackleg range fence as well as occasional fence construction. You’ll coordinate contractors and vendors for work and supplies that are outside the scope of your abilities, to manage the site safely and effectively. To ensure success as a Utility Technician, you are expected to be timely, responsible, reliable, and an observant self-starter who is prepared to work independently and does not require extensive supervision to maintain work ethic and complete a list of tasks. There is an advancement opportunity that includes training to operate and monitor water treatment systems and facilities as delegated by the Site Manager. After training, you will transport and maintain petroleum and water treatment chemicals delivery and placement. Demonstrating critical thinking skills is important for career progression.
If you enjoy a level of variety in your work environment and independence in carrying out your work responsibilities, have a desire to learn advanced tasks and take on technical responsibilities, this position may be a good fit for you.
You’re required to work outside in all weather (extreme cold, wet, and hot conditions at times), and to safely complete heavy labor tasks as needed sometimes in rough terrain. Occasionally you’ll work in smokey conditions resulting from regional forest fires.
