We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to support mining operations in Timmins, ON., on a full-time basis. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role leads end-to-end sourcing activities for goods and services, with a strong focus on cost savings, supply continuity, and supplier performance.

The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day OR 4 on, 3 off, 10hrs/day.

Compensation: This position offers a salary range of $120,000 – $150,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

The Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist plays a key role in supporting day-to-day operations in a fast-paced mining environment. The successful candidate will independently manage sourcing events and act as a trusted procurement partner to operational and technical teams.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support procurement planning for operational and project-based work
  • Lead and independently manage end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFQs, RFPs, negotiations, and award recommendations
  • Develop sourcing strategies aligned with operational needs, cost targets, and risk considerations
  • Evaluate supplier proposals and support contract development and execution
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and project teams to support procurement requirements
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and support value improvement initiatives
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and monitor performance
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and governance standards
  • Maintain procurement documentation and sourcing records to support audit and governance requirements

More About You

The following will be critical to successfully performing this role:

  • 5–10+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience
  • Supply Chain certification (SCMP, CIPS, NISCL, or equivalent) preferred
  • Experience in mining or heavy industrial environments strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to manage competitive sourcing events and supplier negotiations
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to deliver measurable cost savings
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in operational environments
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
