We are looking for an Environmental Analyst to join our Environment team. This role will be based in our Vancouver office and report directly to the Manager, Environment. The incumbent will support the team with data collection and analysis, information review, and environmental initiatives across the company.  They will also learn about the environmental management and practices of the Company.


Major Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and improving the environmental data management systems.
  • Assist in preparing reports for senior management and compiling information from the mine sites.
  • Assist in collecting and analyzing environmental information to develop corporate reporting and sustainability strategies, and decision-making.
  • Research environmental practice and reporting trends globally and within the Company’s peers in the mining industry.
  • Support the team with administrative functions, such as document control, data requests, team communication and coordination.
  • Support mine operations compliance with corporate and international sustainability standards, including “Towards Sustainable Mining” and “Responsible Gold Mining Principles”.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of environmental standards and practices.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in an Engineering, Science or other relevant program, or relevant experience.
  • Collaborative, attentive to detail, self-motivated and keen to learn.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and research skills.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within diverse teams and levels.
  • Ability to produce clear, structured and insightful reports.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Open to travel with a desire to learn new cultures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Attributes

  • 3+ years of experience in or exposure to the mining industry and/or environmental management.
  • Fluent written and spoken Spanish and/or Portuguese.
  • Experience with programming, project management, and/or GIS.
  • Knowledge of Latin American culture.

Salary Range

  • $60,000-$65,300, plus competitive benefits package.
