Role

The Cybersecurity Analyst, part of the Cybersecurity Team, is responsible for protecting the organization’s information systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role involves monitoring security events, analyzing vulnerabilities, responding to incidents throughout IT and cloud environments, and generating reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with analytical thinking and a proactive approach to risk management.

Major Responsibilities

  • Monitor and investigate security systems events, logs, and network traffic for suspicious activity. 
  • Assist in tuning detection rules and improving security monitoring capabilities. 
  • Support investigating and responding to cybersecurity incidents, including containment, eradication, and recovery. 
  • Support vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts. 
  • Deploy and maintain security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, SIEM, and DLP solutions. 
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies. 
  • Support compliance initiatives (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, SOC 2, GDPR, etc.). 
  • Conduct security awareness training and promote best practices. 
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to ensure secure system configurations. 
  • Prepare detailed reports and technical documentation. 
  • Develop, track and report security KPIs 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field 
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related technical role 
  • Relevant certifications are an asset, such as:  
    • Security+ 
    • CySA+ 
    • SSCP 
    • CEH 
    • Vendor‑specific security certifications 
  • Knowledge of network security principles (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls). 
  • Knowledge of SIEM platforms. 
  • Experience with Active Directory and Entra ID. 
  • Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools. 
  • Understanding of vulnerability management tools. 
  • Knowledge of operating systems security (Windows, Linux). 
  • Understanding of encryption protocols, authentication methods, and access control models. 
  • Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls). 
  • Knowledge of threat intelligence and common attack techniques (MITRE ATT&CK framework). 
  • Basic scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar) preferred. 
  • Experience with cloud (Azure, AWS, or OCI) is a plus. 
  • Language & Collaboration 
    • Proficient in English 
    • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus 
    • Proficiency in Portuguese is a plus

Salary Range

  • CAD 68,000.00 – 85,000.00 (annualy)
