Role

The OT Cybersecurity Analyst, part of the Cybersecurity Team, is responsible for protecting industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA systems, and operational technology networks from cyber threats. This role focuses on monitoring, detecting, analyzing, and responding to cybersecurity threats targeting industrial systems while supporting operational safety, reliability, and production continuity.

Major Responsibilities

• Monitoring & Threat Detection:  
  • Monitor OT security tools (IDS/IPS, SIEM, NDR, asset discovery platforms). 
  • Analyze security alerts and threat intelligence specific to industrial protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC, PROFINET, etc.). 
  • Investigate anomalous behavior in control systems and industrial networks. 
  • Develop and maintain baselines of normal industrial network behaviors.  
• Incident Response: 
  • Participate in OT cyber incident response and recovery activities affecting ICS/SCADA systems. 
  • Coordinate containment and remediation activities with OT engineering teams. 
  • Support the development of incident response playbooks for industrial environments. 
• Vulnerability Management: 
  • Conduct OT vulnerability assessments in coordination with operations teams focusing on ensuring safe and efficient production. 
  • Review vendor advisories and ICS-CERT alerts. 
  • Support patch validation and risk-based remediation planning. 
  • Maintain asset inventory and risk classification of OT systems. 
• Governance, Risk & Compliance: 
  • Support implementation of OT security controls aligned with: 
    • ISA/IEC 62443 
    • NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) 
    • MITRE ATT&CK for ICS 
    • NERC CIP (if applicable) 
  • Assist in OT security audits and assessments. 
  • Contribute to OT risk assessments and mitigation planning. 
• Network and Architecture Support: 
  • Support secure network segmentation (IT/OT separation). 
  • Validate firewall rules and industrial DMZ configurations. 
  • Support secure remote access solutions for vendors and field personnel. 
  • Participate in new OT system deployments to ensure security-by-design. 
• Documentation and Reporting: 
  • Document investigations, findings, and remediation steps. 
  • Collaborate with the development and maintenance of OT security procedures and standards. 
  • Provide regular reporting on OT security posture and metrics. 
• Collaboration & Awareness: 
  • Work with IT and OT engineering teams to integrate security into day‑to‑day operations 
  • Provide guidance on secure practices and support security awareness initiatives 
  • Assist in evaluating third‑party and vendor security risks 

Qualifications

• Education & Experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) 
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or a related technical role 
• Relevant certifications are an asset, such as:  
  • GICSP 
  • GRID 
  • ISA/IEC 62443 
  • CySA+ 
  • SSCP 
  • CEH 
  • Vendor‑specific security certifications 
• Technical Knowledge 
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity OT fundamentals (resilience, confidentiality, integrity, availability) 
  • Experience with networking (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VLANs, firewalls) 
  • Experience with Industrial Protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC, etc.) 
  • Understanding of control system architecture (Purdue Model) 
  • Experience with OT asset discovery and monitoring tools 
• Knowledge of OT network monitoring tools, such as: 
  • Nozomi 
  • Claroty 
  • Dragos 
• Analytical & Problem‑Solving Skills 
  • Ability to analyze security events and identify patterns or anomalies 
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to assess risk and recommend practical mitigation strategies 
• Communication & Collaboration 
  • Ability to clearly document findings, incidents, and recommendations 
  • Strong verbal communication skills to explain technical risks to non‑technical stakeholders 
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clear, concise, and well-structured technical documentation 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across IT, security, operations, and business teams 
• Language & Collaboration 
  • Proficient in Portuguese 
  • Proficient in Spanish 
  • Proficiency in English is a plus
