We are looking to hire a Maclean Bolter to join our Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON., on a full-time basis. The schedule for this position is 5-5-4 rotation, 10-hr shifts.
Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.
In this role, you must be capable of operating a jackleg and/or stopper. You will be knowledgeable in all aspects of mining operations such as Drift, Ramp, and Construction mining. You will be a self-motivated individual with excellent leadership and communication skills. You will have experience in mucking development rounds; loading trucks; Jumbo drill experience; bolting with Jackleg and/or Stoper; assisting with prepping the face for drilling; installing services in development headings and loading rounds. Experience with the use of single and/or multiple boom-jumbo operations would be considered an asset.


Job Responsibilities

Reporting to the Underground Supervisor, the Maclean Bolter will have the following responsibilities:

  • Operate Jackleg and/or stoper.
  • Assisting with prepping the face for drilling
  • Inspect existing underground headings
  • Identify and rectify unsafe conditions in underground headings
  • Install and repair services in underground development headings and loading rounds.
  • Drill holes using mechanized bolting equipment
  • Keep track of all work progress and communicate to supervisors and cross shifts status of the workplace
  • Perform pre-operational inspections on equipment
  • Other duties as assigned

  • 5 to 10 years of related mining experience
  • Proven work experience in the safe operation of a Jumbo along with Specialty Common Core Modules
  • Practice good housekeeping
  • Be committed to safety
  • Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core
  • Previous experience bolting with jackleg/stoper
  • Previous experience/knowledge in mucking development rounds and loading trucks
  • Previous experience operating single and/or multiple boom jumbo
  • Ability to comprehend engineering prints
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
