We are looking to hire a Heavy Equipment Lead Mechanics to join our team at the Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON, on a full-time basis. The schedule is 5-5-4, 10 hr shifts rotating days and nights each week.

Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.

Major responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing mobile maintenance of the Mining Fleet and support equipment, and to provide direction and leadership to the maintenance team. The Mechanic Lead knows and monitors applicable standards and procedures to ensure the quality of the work performed. As a lead mechanic, you will be responsible for advising Supervisor/Maintenance Foreman of any problems and will assist in the development of maintenance employees, efficient operation of the department, as well as ensuring efficient maintenance operations.


Qualifications

While our ideal candidate has the following qualifications, we welcome applicants who may not meet every criterion to apply.

  • Red Seal Mechanical Certification is required
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in an industrial setting is required
  • Practice good housekeeping
  • Be committed to safety
  • Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core is required
  • Supervisory Common Core would be an asset
