We are looking to hire a Core Technician to join our Exploration Office in Timmins, ON., on a contract basis. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day. The contract length is 12 months.

In this role, you will assist the underground diamond drill group primarily logging core for the Bell Creek and Timmins West mine sites as well as for various regional exploration projects. You also may be required to assist with creating diamond drillhole layouts, entering daily drill statistics and sectional interpretations of the zones being targeted.

Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.

More About You

While our ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications, we welcome applications who may not meet every criterion to apply.

• 1-3 years’ experience working on diamond drill projects conducting a variety of duties to assist the exploration/mine geologist.
• Familiar with logging, sampling of drill core and core handling procedure.
• Past experience using GPS spotting drill holes, tenching and other field exploration activities is considered an asset.
• Experience using computers and Microsoft office programs.
• Must either be an APGO member or be eligible to apply for APGO or GIT membership in the Province of Ontario
• Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada

Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods.  Ore is then transported to surface via a modern one thousand eighty metre deep shaft capable of forty-eight hundred tonnes per day.
